The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young. GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFE campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at: www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student

Help for Hetero
12:49pm 06/01/2007
  HjelpForHeterofile :-:HFH/HFS:-: HelpForStraights

Long version(painfully honest):
Inspired by the various "Cure your homosexuality! Homosexuality is an illness! We have the meds!" - campaigns which has showed up in the last couple of years, we, a group of Norwegian save-the-vowels-activists*, have decided to declare war. It will be fought with words and pillows.

So far, we have developed, with great help from professor Extrem Elly G.Ayman, a cure to heterosexuality. Rejoice, people of the world, rejoice! You will find the cure in the journal. If not, simply add a comment asking for it, and we will be happy to send it to you.

Have a very gay year.

This is Help For Straights, signing off.

  Hello everyone,

So, its way early in the game, but my girlfriend and I have started talking about having kids in the very 'what if' abstract sort of way. We were trying to come up with what names the kids could call us, given that we would be two moms, except that I identify as genderqueer so something more genderless would be preferable for me.

We've been looking online but haven't found anything useful, we are just brainstorming, and mostly out of curiosity, but you know how these things go. So, any ideas you have would be wonderful!

My name's Mike and I'm pre-everything. I'm 18 and out to 98% of my friends who are pretty cool about me being transgendered although they still call me by my birth name for the most part. I used to rarely bind, but am begining to do it more often, hopefully daily althought its with ACE bandages. I do not pack, use a STP device, or go into the male restrooms. My father knows, but completly ignores the fact and the rest of my family has no idea.

Here's my questions:

I'm a senior in high school, and in JROTC (I love the program and Idk if me being out would create an issue). Would it be a good move to come out to the highschool so I could graduate under my prefered name? I'm worried about the Staff and Administration reaction, not as much the students.

Also, what can I start under the radar living in my house without my parents knowing this year to get a jump on transistioning??

Does anyone know of some good colleges in TX that are friendly with Transistioning??

Anything else that you all know that could help me out???

Online vs. Real Life

Yeah, I know, for some of us there's no difference. But has anyone else noticed that you have naturally projected as your correct gender online, perhaps even long before you actually found yourself consciously identifying as that gender? In various chat rooms and games, where I have a completely androgynous screen name, people tend to assume I am male. Obviously, the 'Net provides a medium for expressing onesself without outward physical appearance getting in the way, but are there really distinctively "masculine" and "feminine" mannerisms that reveal themselves even though text alone? *ponders*

Hi. I'm Morgan, and I'm a boy, at least sometimes. I'm at the beginning of all this, and I'm exploring the possibilities of transition, and the idea of being a boy more than sometimes- more like full-time. Maybe. It's all very scary right now, scary and liberating and unsettling and invigorating. I'm sure you've heard it all before. I'm looking to make contact with transgendered individuals, FTM's in particular. So, right. This is me initiating dialogue.

Hi, i just joined. I am thrilled that I have found this community. I am very interested in learning lifestyles of people. I was wondering because i'm really new to all of this. Are there any books out there that could give me a better uderstanding of all of this. I am willing to learn anything I possibly can. I know the best way to understand something is to have the cloest seat. Although, I am not, as far as I know anything other then hetrosexual, that may change, i'm young and have a, hopefully, long life ahead of me. I, myelf would love to read up on the subject. Any thing you can tell me will help out more than you know. Maybe if someone has old used books they no longer want i am willing to buy/trade for them.

I guess I'm pretty "feminine", not really "girly" though. Whatever.
